Split

We did the typical tourist route. Started in Dubrovnik and headed to Split. Truth is we wanted to head more north but we only had two weeks in Croatia and didn’t want to be hopping around too much. Split felt much smaller than Dubrovnik. We walked around the old town, which also had a lot of character.

…and went down the dungeons of the palace, which were cool.

We found an interesting/strange bar while wandering about, called the Ghetto Club.

After lunch we followed a path that promised us great views of the city. Only once we were halfway up did we realise that we were on the Marjan hill route, which our host had recommended we do.

After all that walking we needed some beach time. The beach makes me very happy. I was still getting used to the man made beaches of Europe. I am used to the sandy beaches of South Africa so the built up beaches were a big change. We did find a sandy beach, and spent a good afternoon reading, swimming and snoozing.
